Books I Finished in September

The Naturals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes: 4/5. This book is a Young Adult thriller. This book is like criminal minds written for the young adult reader. 17 year old Cassie has the natural ability to profile people. She joins others who also have natural gifts that can help them solve the perfect crime.

Riverdale: The Day Before by Micol Ostow: 3/5. I love the show Riverdale so I thought I would give the books a read. This book seemed to be a bit young for my liking however it provided details of the day before a major death happens in Riverdale.

The Twin by Natasha Preston: 3/5. The main characters twin sister moves in with her and her dad after their mom died. She is hoping to bond and reconnect with her distanced twin sister. It seems her sister has other motives being in town. Will she be able to reconnect or will the dark secret her sister is hiding get in the way of their happy ideal of a family.

The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes 5/5. Could you imagine being a high schooler and being told you are inheriting a billion dollar estate from someone you don’t even know. Well, that’s exactly what is happening to Avery Grambs. The one catch is she must move into the mysterious Hawthorne House right away and stay there for an entire year. This isn’t your average house. Each room is filled with a secret-passage or a message that needs to be discovered. Will she survive and can she figure out why she inherited a billion dollar estate from a complete stranger.

The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker 5/5. Set in a small Alaskan town. 26 year old Calla lives in Toronto with her Mother and Step Father. She flies to Alaska to reconnect with her father. She just might fall in love with one of the grumpy bush pilots who just can’t wait to fly her back to Toronto. The vibes of this book is perfect for a cozy fall read.

Wrong Place Wrong Time by Gillian McAllister 3/5. Jen is waiting up for her son to arrive home. She looks out the window and sees her son. However, she witnessed something horrible. Her son stabs a man. Her son is taken into custody and Jen finally makes it home to sleep for the night. When she wakes up it is the day before the murder. Each day she wakes up further and further into the past. She can’t figure out why she is time traveling backwards but, perhaps she can stop the murder before it even happens?

Verity by Colleen Hoover 5/5. Verity Crawford is on her way to become a very successful thriller author. That is, until Verity is in an accident and she is non verbal and immobile. Her husband is looking for a Co-Author to finishing writing his wife’s books. Lowen is chosen and moves into the house for a few days to be able to go through Verity’s notes to be able to understand the point of view she writes from. She decides to read Verity’s autobiography and she is horrified by her discoveries. She no longer feels safe to be in the home with Verity.
