What To Look For In a Barrel Racing Prospect

Today I am going to talk about 'what to look for in a Barrel Horse' if you are looking to purchase one. ** Now, If you are just buying your first barrel horse you might be thinking I just need a horse who's fast and the rest will come naturally, while yes speed is a very important factor, after all it is a speed event, but there are other factors that need to go into a horse.

Life Update!

Hey Y'all! Where to even begin. Let's first start with why I've been gone for so long, can you believe my last time I talked to you guys on here was August 6th!? So, I've been MIA for so long because my new website has been being designed and I love it so much. You can now order your custom lead ropes on here, and eventually I will have a clothing line out too and some other cool products. So let's see: since I talked to you last I've cut my hair, gone to Cheyenne and Laramie Wyoming, went to Cheyenne Frontier Days, attended a Chris Jansen/Luke Bryan concert. I went to Washington State for 2 weeks and rescued to baby kittens and well that's about it since then. So let's start with my Wyoming trip!

30 Days to Thrive: Day 13

Hey y’all! So I can’t remember if I mentioned it or not but I joined the 30 Days to Thrive group that Jenna and Jed Smeenk are doing. It is a monthly group and you sign up for each month or any month. I don’t know if they are doing this next month, but if they are you should totally sign up! There is a new challenge everyday in the month of July. Day 13 challenge was to take a quiz by Tony Robbins and write a blog post or do a video about it so I though I would do a blog post. Here are my results:

DIY: Mane & Tail Detangler

Hey y’all! So I made a Detangler for my horses not too long ago, and decided to share it with y’all. I will use this Detangler when I brush out their Mane and Tail. A little secret to keeping your horse’s Mane and Tails long is to not brush them very often, and when you do brush them out be sure to use this detangler. I also like to use  this all over them sometimes before I groom them and it makes them super soft.

Build a better bond with your Horse

Hey Y’all! Hey y’all! Happy Mother’s Day to all the Momma’s reading this! So for today’s post I am going to a Spring Cleaning Checklist. Dixie’s Diary: Day 1 of lungeing.

Hey y’all! I hope y’all have had an awesome week. So as y’all know Dixie had an injury about a year ago and long story short, I am now starting her conditioning to bring her back. I am doing this partly because I want a way to document her progress and partly because it might help some of you. So, I have been doing ground work with a few days, of her just backing up softly and with energy so once she got better at that I decided I would go ahead and start lunging her.

    Multitasking is bad??

Multitasking. It is something that we have all done and we’ve been taught that it’s better to work on more than one thing at once to try to get things done faster. The reality of it is, working on more than one thing at once takes longer to get everything done and gives you the chance to fail at more than one thing. For example, right now as I am writing this I am listening to music at the same time, which seems like multitasking right? Well sure it is but I can only Focus on one thing at a time and my brain just goes back and forth between the two. My brain will tune out the music sometimes and moments later it’ll listen to the music again and not focus so much on what I am writing.
