First Trimester Recap

Hey y’all! Today, I am going to be sharing with you a recap of my first trimester. I will share things like symptoms, supplements I took and my early pregnancy must haves. Please keep in mind none of this is medical advice, this is just what worked for me. *

Symptoms:

  • Morning Sickness: I started experiencing Morning Sickness immediately. I pretty much got sick every single day in the first trimester. It definitely made it harder to go out in public. Going to a restaurant or grocery store was challenging at times.

  • Bloating: Bloating came mid to end of the first trimester. I didn’t feel like it was super uncomfortable but it was enough to note.

  • Fatigue: Pregnancy tired is a whole new level of tired. The early part of the first trimester I spent a lot of time horizontal. I would go to bed super early and get up super early.

  • Nausea: Along with Morning Sickness Nausea came right along with it. I was pretty much nauseas all day long.

  • Aversions: The first aversion I had was scrambled eggs. They just smelled horrible while they were cooking and also the texture was a no go for me.

Supplements:

  • Select Balance Prenatal: This prenatal I started taking about 8 months prior to TTC. I love this prenatal because it has the Methylated Folate instead of Folic Acid.

  • Select Balance Mineral Support: This is another supplement I started taking 8 months prior to TTC. Minerals are such an essential for our health.

  • Select Balance Myo-Inositol: I started this supplement 8 months prior to TTC as well. This I started taking for overall cycle health, boosting egg quality and it also can help aid in keeping blood sugar balanced.

  • Select Balance Southard Living Magnesium: This is one that I added into my routine about 4 months prior to TTC. Magnesium is so vital to our health. Magnesium is involved in hundreds of biochemical reactions in your body. Some of the functions include: Energy Creation, protein formation, gene maintenance, muscle movements and nervous system regulation.

  • Paleo Valley Beef Organ Complex: I started this supplement about 4 months TTC as well. Beef organs are so incredibly nutrient dense and are the ultimate superfood in my opinion. I know some people can just eat liver and onions but that is not my cup of tea. This is my favorite brand to take as it includes grass fed beef liver, kidney and heart.

Paleo Valley Essential C Complex: I started this right alongside the beef organ complex. Vitamin C has many benefits for your body. These benefits may help with reducing your risk of chronic disease by protecting cells from free radicals. May help manage high blood pressure, helps prevent iron deficiency and boosts immunity.

First Trimester Must Haves:

  • Rowe Casa First Trimester Support: I purchased this to have on hand before TTC. This helps support your progesterone levels during the first trimester. I started using this the day I got my first positive pregnancy test. You use this until week 13 of pregnancy.

  • Rowe Casa Thyroid + Adrenal support: This is a product that I have used for about 3 years. It is one I will continue using throughout my pregnancy to help support my thyroid and adrenals.

  • Rowe Casa Sinus + Headache rollerball: This is another product I have had on hand for a long time. I would use this if I got headaches as well as for a stuffy nose or sinus pressure.

  • Rowe Casa Topical Magnesium Gel: This is something I have used for about 2 years now and it is absolutely an essential for me for the first trimester but also beyond that.

  • Real Food For Pregnancy: I read this book and I loved it. It talks about the value of real food during pregnancy and truly how important nutrition is.

  • Just Ingredients Chocolate Protein Powder: I have used this protein powder for about a year now and it is my absolute favorite. This was an absolute life saver during the first trimester when eating was a challenge some days.

  • Just Ingredients Electrolytes: Staying hydrated is so important for pregnancy but especially the first trimester.

Purchases:

  • Real Food For Pregnancy: This was the first pregnancy related book that I purchased.

  • Maternity Leggings: I did buy my first and only maternity item during the first trimester so I had them on hand to grow into.

  • Mama T-Shirt: I also purchased my first mom item.

  • Burts Bees Christmas Onesie: This was the first baby item I purchased.

  • Baby Animals 2-Way Zip Cotton Blend Sleep & Play Pajamas: I purchased this item from carters. I got a few gender neutral staples since we did not know the gender in the first trimester.

  • Baby Snail Print Zip-Up PurelySoft Sleep & Play Pajamas: This is another carters find. It is adorable, with little snails on it. It is also extremely soft.

  • Baby 2-Pack Sleeper Gowns: I got these for easier diaper changes as night once the baby is here.

  • Baby 2-Pack Caps: I wanted to have a few baby caps on hand as our baby is due in the fall it could start to get chilly.

  • Baby 3-Pack Mittens: This is something that is something I wanted to have on hand as baby’s nails can be super sharp when they are first born so this helps for them to not scratch their face.

  • Joonya Diapers: I have started to purchase diapers in my first trimester. I will be suing non-toxic diapers for our baby. I will definitely do a review in the futureon the non-toxic diapers that we end up using.

  • Joonya Baby Wipes: I also started to aqcuire non-toxic baby wipes as well.

  • Believe Diapers: This is another brand of non-toxic diapers I am trying out.
